What to do at home to avoid dry skin especially in winter

- Having 5- to 10-minute bath or shower daily help moisturizing your skin depending on type of skin.
- Never, ever scratch. Most of the time, a moisturizer can control the itch.
- Use warm water rather than hot water, which can wash away natural oils.
- Select soaps you use and ask your dermatologist about which soap is suitable to your skin.
- Be gentle on your skin, avoid tough bath sponges, scrub brushes, and washcloths. If you don’t want to give them up altogether, be sure to use a light touch.
- Apply moisturizer immediately after bathing or after washing your hands.
- Use sunscreen in the winter as well as the summer to prevent bad effects of sun rays.
- Some wool and other fabrics might irritate the skin, you can avoid it.
- When shaving, use a shaving cream or gel and leave it on your skin for several minutes before starting.

In summer time, it turns slightly oily but in winter season it may turn dry. Normally these people has normal secretion of internal oily materials through tiny pores in the skin. So, in summer season due to hotness these skin pores open and start secrete it natural oil keeping skin moist. On the other hand, in wintertime, kin pores are closed because of cold weather trapping the natural skin oil inside turning the skin dry which can be hypersensitive to other environmental factors like using soaps or make up cosmetics.
The solution to adapt to dryness of skin in winter is use moisturizing creams and drinking plenty of water to hydrate the skin well. Just because it is winter it is not fine to skip your eight glasses of water.
Dry skin
Perhaps, people with dry skin will enjoy summer more than people with other skin types. Hotness open their skin pores and start secreting reasonable natural skin oil. Therefore, summer time is a great turning point to recover their skin from winter drying effect.
Oily skin
For people with oily skin, winter is often their best time. That’s because their skin secrete less of the skin natural oil. They have very moist greasy skin in summer, while having normal skin type in winter.
Aging skin
The older people loose their skin elasticity due destruction of internal collagen in the deeper skin layers. In addition, the older you are, the less adaptability of your skin to external changes in the environment. In, young people, the skin is in normal continuous regeneration especially in adaptation to changes in temperature of external atmosphere. On the other hand aged skin cannot regenerate will so loose this adaptability that’s why looked aged and destructed.
To ameliorate appearance of aged skin it is mandatory to go to your dermatologist for advise before asking help from aesthetic salons. There are more than one medications to help making aged skin looks healthier. Over the counter anti-aging creams can be used but of course after consulting your doctor.
Sun damaged skin
You may feel that the sun is cooler in winter than the summer time, but the sun rays are the same in all seasons. In winter the sun rays might not reach your skin because of clouds, but if i reached your skin, it will have the same effect on skin. This matter, of course, depend time of exposure of your skin to sun rays, mostly less in winter because of moving heavy clouds. It is new information every one should consider. In addition, clouds may block 20% of harmful sun rays, but still 80% can cause significant damage effects to your skin. You must apply sunscreen in winter especially in sunny days.
Hypersensitive skin
It is delicate sensitive skin which require delicate handling when doing exfoliation, peels, laser treatment. Furthermore, these cosmetic procedure may make the skin sensitized and need to be more careful and so on.

Dry lips
